Are You Marketing Without A Squeeze Page?
My Biggest Internet Marketing Mistake As A Newbie Was Not Having My Own Squeeze Page
Maybe you are not sure what a squeeze page is? A squeeze page is also known as a capture page.
A Capture Page or a Squeeze Page is used to collect a list of subscribers for your e-mail marketing campaigns.
When I first got started in Internet Marketing, I thought that I had to have some fancy website. I started out with creating one of those shopping cart websites and trying to sell items from wholesale drop shippers.
I did have a little bit of success, but that is definitely one of the hardest ways to make income on the internet. You see, you might earn a retail sale every now and again. That is a wonderful feeling.
The problem is that you are competing with literally tens of thousands of other people who are getting the same items from the same places you are. Some of them are even willing to sell for less than their cost just to earn their initial business.
That makes it a pretty tough market. I also learned the biggest mistake I made during those early days was not keeping a database of my customers.
I made the same mistake when I moved over to earning commissions doing affiliate marketing using sites like clickbank.
I was actually promoting other peoples squeeze pages and building them up a list of subscribers. No wonder they were willing to pay me such nice commissions for that initial subscriber and sale.
The problem was that they were able to market to those same people over and over again with multiple offers, even if I never made a sale but just got them to put in their name and e-mail on that squeeze page that I was promoting.
So What Is A Squeeze Page Exactly?
A Squeeze Page (aka Capture Page) is basically a single page website. It will have some ad copy selling a product or service, some basic graphics and perhaps even a video
See an Example Here: http://www.nobodyistelling.com/
The one goal of a Squeeze Page is to capture the visitors information. At a minimum you will want to ask for a name and e-mail address. This will allow you to communicate with your vistors over and over again.
The money is in the list is the old saying which is sort of true. The real truth is the money is in the relationships that you build with that list!
Making Your Own Squeeze Page
The good news is that you don’t have to know HTML or anything fancy to get your own Squeeze Page set up.
You can set up a simple squeeze page by having your own e-mail auto responder and using a free page creator.
Here are 2 that I recommend for ease of use
With just a few minutes work and a bit of experimenting, you can have your own Marketing Squeeze page set up and be doing it like the Pros.
There is absolutely no reason in the world you should be letting somebody else control your list of visitors. You put out the effort to drive the traffic to a website, it might as well be one of your own.
Provide valuable content to your e-mail readers and you will have to opportunity to market to them over and over again.

I made the same mistake when I first started marketing … I am still kicking myself because I will never know exactly how much money I let slip through my fingers by not having a great list to which I can recommend all of the really helpful tools I come across. Lesson learned … I don’t do anything without a squeeze page anymore !! Great explanation and service recommendations Scott !!
Thanks for the comment Rose. I too kicked myself in the butt when I realized this one costly mistake.
I wish someone had told me about this in the beginning. I think that sometimes that we seasoned marketers forget some of the things that we had to struggle with in the early days.
This information might seem obvious to those of us in the know, but there are thousands of marketers still marketing other peoples web pages who are clueless.
Maybe this will shed light on at least one person. If it does, then I did my job!
