Would You Recommend Your Home Business To Your Sister?
Do You Feel Confident That Your Own Family Could Do What You Do?
It has been a long road to get to where I am at today. I finally have an understanding of what it takes to run a home business. It’s not as easy as those who have never tried may think.
Also, it’s not as easy as many people out here try to tell you that it is. There is so much HYPE on the internet and so many scams. You have to be very careful with what it is that you promote. I learned this lesson the hard way. Back about a year ago I was doing some experimenting with some off the wall concepts, you know looking for the EASY button for making money online. I was trying out a few of these paid to read e-mails, paid to take surveys and all that junk. I know quite a bit about marketing etc, but I also know how long it took me to learn it and I was looking for something that anybody could do.
Anyhow, I was doing these stupid little get paid to e-mail programs and I was working one that actually paid me. I got all excited I couldn’t believe it. This was so simple, I just check my inbox every day and click on the e-mails and let them load. That is all that was required.
I immediately started sharing it with my friends. I was like I know this seems too easy but hey it’s easy money. I enrolled some of my friends and they enrolled some of their family members and friends. Well wouldn’t you know it, not two weeks after I get them involved my next expected payday never came.
I thought at the time, no big deal it will come and told everyone to just keep doing it. The payment I received the first time came late so it was no big deal.
Well, that start up company closed it’s doors and never bothered to let anyone know. Here we were still promoting it. As a matter of fact there are STILL people promoting it!
This little scheme cost me some of my friends who would probably never trust any new home business idea that I come up with now or in the future. I don’t blame them.
There are some things that actually are fairly easy to do that you can teach people how to do. You have to test everything. You have to make sure it is totally duplicate able. I am currently testing a few things for newbies because two of my sisters so far have come to me and asked how they could make some extra money online.
You see, I am the authority now because I have a certain amount of success with Internet and Network Marketing. So the question now becomes what programs or business opportunities would I recommend to my own family?
Honestly would you recommend half the things that you are involved in to your own family? I love my sisters but I don’t think they are going to commit to the amount of learning and dedication that it took me to get this far and I still have a long way to go.
My first instinct was to tell them NO, due to my past experience with my friends. I gave it a ton of thought and pondered the scenerio in my mind. The conclusion is if I wouldn’t recommend it to my sister, if I was not confident that I could teach my own sister how to do what it is that I am doing, then I don’t need to recommend it to anyone at all!
Think about that when your communicating with prospects. You are going to come across a lot of newbies to the industry. Are you confident that you can teach them how to succeed in the business opportunity?
Can you show someone how to make just a couple extra bucks a month or are you going to let them know how rich they can get, knowing damned well the odds are very slim.
My point here is make sure you know exactly what you are doing before YOU take on the responsibility of teaching and training others. This industry has enough of a black eye and I personally am responsible for punching it once or twice. I have learned since then and am very careful with my prospects.
Their family is depending on me! When you take on a team, they are depending on YOU.
Think about that next time you get ready to show your kick ass comp plan.
My sister has two kids to feed and is a single parent. Would you recommend your program to your sister? If not don’t recommend it to anyone!
